Welcome to the website for Cat’s Away Productions and Cat’s Away Studios. I’m Miner Gleason, principal musician and recordist, and co-owner of Cat’s Away.

As our kids were growing up, the household was often noisy and active, and recording and other musical activities were usually accomplished when the rest of the family was out of the house, during “cat’s away” time. So when the time came to pick a name, Cat’s Away seemed like the natural choice.

At this time, Cat’s Away musical activities consist primarily of my live performances with various bands and ensembles and recording work here and at other studios.
